Lollipop Treat & Primitive Pumpkins

We are now in the middle of My Favorite Things’ Teaser Time... are you enjoying all of the projects? I've been floored by all the projects that the team has created. 

Today I'm sharing some fun treat projects using Lollipop Treat... with a little of my Primitive Pumpkins stamp set!

One of my favorite things about being a stamp illustrator is finding sets that I've not illustrated that go well with ones I have. Lollipop treats is just that type of set. Super versatile... I love it! Here is a little lollipop trio that I created.

I love that I can go modern or vintage... really any style with these sets.

The flag has a sentiment from Primitive Pumpkins. A fun way to add a sense of motion to a project is to form thing like the flag like it's waving in the wind.

Which is your favorite Pumpkin? One minute I think it's this wonky dot one...

the next it's the lined pumpkin.

I did something fun with this treat wrap...

I double cut the pumpkin die to create a hinged style tag on the front from it.

This is ready to have Ella address for a special class member. With the little text pumpkin.

I love all of the circle and pattern images in this set... there are a ton of possibilities  with it! Here is the set in full.

Primitive Pumpkins, Distressed Diamonds & About Grandparents

 Welcome to day three of Teaser Time for  My Favorite Things! It's been a great past few days... and I'm excited to share the cards I created for today! 

In addition to Distressed Diamonds and Primitive Pumpkins, I get to share a little using the Clearly Sentimental: About Grandparents.

Masculine cards can be a little difficult. I tend to keep them simple and clean. I used Distressed Diamonds to create a color diamond pattern. This reminds me of a warm, cozy sweater that my Grandpa might have worn. I love being able to create these patterns of color with this set.
I used the new High Rise Alphabet Lowercase for the "hi" and About Grandparents for the sentiment. It's a pretty font huh!

A simple inside that reflects the front.

Next is a totally different style of card... elegant and full of details.

I used Distressed Diamonds to stamp the background on the card base. The little stars are from Primitive Pumpkins.

I thought it would be neat to create elegant cream pumpkins. I inked the stems of the pumpkin images and stamped those... then added the flourishes. I added depth with the frame that had the center die cut out. The little crystal flourishes are by Zva Creative.

 The design elements are pulled into the inside too. I used a larger oval die cut to create a place to write something personal.

I used the new Harlequin die on this card too.

This is a great accent and goes really well with these new sets!

Primitive Pumpkins day two

Here we are on day two of My Favorite Things Teaser Time... and I get to share something using my Primitive Pumpkins set today.

Here are some Primitive Pumpkins gum wrappers.

My girls LOVE the Extra Dessert Delights gum, especially the Root Beer Float kind. I thought it would be fun to wrap some for them as a treat for that day. I made each one just a little different too.

Pretty simple and straightforward.... but fun! I dare say that they will be ecstatic when they open their lunches!

Introducing: Primitive Pumpkins and Distressed Diamonds!

Summer is drawing to a close and school starts in just about a few days. There are so many exciting things going on right now! It's also MFT Teaser Time...and for a debut of some on my new stamps. This month I get to offer you TWO new, fun sets! 

Here are some details...

Primitive Pumpkins ($23.95) - A rustic, primitive style Halloween/Pumpkin stamp set and Die-namics combo. This set features three unique pumpkins and several accent images, all with their own primitive, folksy flair! Useful sentiments and a fun, funky star garland image are also part of this versatile set. Check out the handy graphics to see all of the images and dies in this combo!

Distressed Diamonds ($15.95) - A simple, elegant diamond background set that features three strips of diamonds with a touch of distressing. There is a large and small group strip and a single strip of medium diamonds. This set is a must have set because of the extreme versatility!

On to the stamping!

Here is the first card I created with this set. Folksy and classic primitive Halloween!

The pumpkins from Primitive Pumpkins are stamped in three different colors while the accent stars float around. Distressed Diamonds is used to create the background paper. 

I had fun choosing a cute sentiment for this set.

Each pumpkin and star is unique in its own way. The wonky dot one might just be my favorite though. The bottom portion of the top layers is actually a die cut of the scalloped border die that has been stamped and adhered under the real top layer. The seam is hidden with the twine.

The inside has some of the design elements that follow over from the front.

The Halloween Garland image is fun because it was created to give a sense of motion. I chose to use a die cut of the pumpkin for the inside to add some contrast.

Next is a softer card that could be used for a fall card too.

I used the same small diamond strip from Distressed Diamonds to decorate the Peek-A-Boo Trio Die-namics.  

Each pumpkin is inked with a green and orange before stamping. The little vine images are a fun touch to add some movement too.

The inside reflects the exterior design. I included a single image in Primitive Pumpkins that has all three pumpkins in a trio. This is a fun little image for SO many things. Perfect for treat bag too!

Lastly, a pastel Halloween Birthday card!

You might be wondering who would want one of these... Well… my Hannah has a fall birthday and LOVES Halloween! She had so many Halloween Birthday parties growing up. I will never think of that holiday and not think of her! 

The sentiment is stamped and embossed on a new Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX die cut. I threaded some twine into the top for a decorative element.

The background paper is stamped with the largest of the Distressed Diamonds strips. 

I love the leafy flourish die because of the elegance and flow it lends to my projects.

There is a new picket fence die that I used here too. I stamped it with the wood grain image from the By the Numbers stamp set and embossed it.  We have a little white picket fence that inspired me to do that.

August VIP

Hello friends! It's time for the August VIP collection reveal for MFT! I must say... I fell in love with the Prehistoric Girl stamp set. I used to watch the Flintstones when I was little... and my hair was often worn in this same style... a whale spout. Yes, I've officially aged myself. LOL!

 

I thought that the animal print in the By The Numbers stamp set was a great pattern to coordinate. I stamped some Whip Cream cardstock with it then stamped her dress, I then paper pieced it. She had to have a real bone to match too!

It's hard to see... but there is glitter on the stripes on her dress. She is ALL girl!

 A coordinating strip on the inside to pull it all together... and a sentiment from the All Occasions Sentiments stamp set.

Circus Spectacular with the MFT Team

Circus Spectacular Finale

 

Giraffe Birthday card

 Now that the August release is available at the My Favorite Things website... we are all sharing more using all the new released stamp set and Die-namics... so you get one last peek at the Circus Spectacular Die-namics and Stamp Set & Die-namics Ticket Strip today here on my blog. 

You saw a peek of the Giraffe card above... here are some detail photos. A fun ticket cluster!

The Die-namics Ticket Strip is uniquely designed to coordinate with the Circus Spectacular stamp set. The ticket images work PERFECTLY with the die! The image is uniquely sized as well. I love how great the blank tickets look with other images stamped on them too!

A detail photo of the giraffe.  I carefully masked the stamped cart then stamped the giraffe image into the center.  This took just a little time but yielded some fun results! I have a friend with a birthday coming up that I'm sending this card too. :) She loves Giraffes! 

Here is the inside.  I thought it would be fun to just decorate the corner with the number that represents the birthday year. Now this may not be good if you were giving this to someone, um, my age! LOL!

I thought it would be fun to create some pieces for a party ensemble. There are so many more that you could create too. 

Here are some little boxed of animal crackers. I have super fond memories of walking along with my little box dangling from my bitty hands... snacking on them as I went along. Add a string to a box of cookies and I was a happy girl I guess!

Personalization for treats is really fun, if you have a little extra time.

WI thought that this was another fun fit find... having the Designer Label STAX frame fit inside the Circus Spectacular cart so well! A little close up of the monkey here too.

I created a water bottle wrap too.

There are so many fun colored sodas out there; I bet you could find something perfect for your version of this!

I was really strategic in the distressing on the seal. We have a lot of Harbor Seals here in our town so I wanted it to be similar to what I know. 

Here is the Circus Spectacular ensemble together. 

There are a lot of fun ideas swirling in my head about what to include at the party. Nutter Butter cookies, a strip of tickets to use a different games, Food tags for the treat table... and for a wedding... labels for the candies on the candy bar!

 Next is a very simple, non-circus style card. 

I love how the Elephant can stand alone on the front and just carry the card. I think so often I think that there HAS to be a sentiment on the front... but not so. :)

I also have a few details with the dies that are new that I thought I would share.

The Die-namics Retro Squares was used to cut into the  already die cute flourish layer. Then I puzzle pieced the white die cut into the layer to make it flush. 

A little close up photo of the Elephant. Have you ever tried just a B&W card? They are fun and elegant!

A simple sentiment and flourish decorates the inside!

Circus Spectacular day and Die-namics feature

Day 7 of Teaser Time is here... we've teased  you all week long, have you picked out some goodies...and are you ready to shop for your favorite Brand Spankin' New products from MFT?  I was blown away by the products and sample projects for this month... and it was fun to participate in my first month of Teasers!

Before the shop opens... it's time for our Die-namics Feature and Pre-Release Pep Rally!

We all have been busy creating beautiful, inspiring and innovative projects for you! AND... we might just have the best for last! :)

  I am, of course, showcasing Circus Spectacular Stamp Set and Die-namics and Die-namics Ticket Strip!

 First off... a larger card!

This card works with a business size envelope. This is a really fun size to work with and I have to remind myself to go to it. I tend to get into an A2 rut. I wanted this card to give you a feeling that you just walked into the circus and are getting a peek at the animals just before the big show.

Instead of using the ticket stamp images I chose to create a little collage with the Circus Spectacular smaller images. The Die-namics Ticket Strip was used though. I love how they look when they are torn apart!

The sentiment is stamped on the card with Red ink... then I stamped it in brown ink on scrap paper and trimmed out the letters from DREAM and adhered them onto the card.

Notice that I used the Cart connecting image on this card too. I love how I can create them joined to allow a more connected feeling on the card

The inside was fun to create too. I used a ton of the Circus Spectacular images!

I used all of the animal dies of that card too!

Next some fun with the Dienamics Ticket Strip!

First... this set was designed specifically to do something special.  Let me show you... 

I trimmed a piece of 12x12 patterned paper then die cut into it. 

Next, place the prong end of the die so that it overlaps the nub end of the patterned paper and die cut. You can use clear tape to secure it before you cut if you want to make sure that it doesn't slip while cutting. I place some scotch style tape to overlap the sides to keep it secure while doing this.

Here is the result of that fun little trick!

 Here is a little project using this cut strip! I stamped the entire strip first then wrapped it around the tin. 

It wrapped around perfectly and even overlapped some. Die-namics Ticket Strip is great for scrapbooks too!

Here is a photo of the wrap. It creates a nice, finished project!

These are ready to go and give as a little gift...for any occasion too!

Circus Spectacular and Loads of Love

Thanks so much for stopping by today! It's day 6 of Teaser Time for My Favorite Things. Today I'm sharing more using my soon to be released stamp set and Die-namics, Circus Spectacular Stamp set and Die-namics and also the new Pure Innocence Loads of Love stamp set!

I'm starting off with the Loads of Love card first.

This little girl is darling. I was worried about getting the skin right at first but while peeking through my stash of non-copic coloring supplies I noticed a pack of watercolor pencils. There are a limited amount of colors but I like how it all turned out. It's not perfect but has a little artistic feel!
I added a little glitter to the pink portions of her clothes.

I think this set will come in handy for when a friend is struggling with something and needs help sorting something out. Or... when I'm a dork and need to say "I'm sorry". Let's face it... we are all human. :)

I left a LOT of room for writing on the inside of this card. Goodness knows... I might just need all that room! LOL!

I really like the cute sentiments in this set. So many uses!

 

Now on to Circus Spectacular Stamp set and Die-namics!

 I have one pretty pastel birthday card using to share with you today!

I used the ticket images from the set to create some background paper. There are 4 pastel colors used on this card. It's easy to coordinate everything when you pick your color combination and stick with it. I started this project by stamping the tickets to create a background. Then I built the card from there.

The circus tent took SO many hours to illustrate. I really wanted it to look nice as it would play a key role in setting the feel of Circus Spectacular! You might just giggle if you saw it in its infancy!

I ;ove how it looks in this die cut Circle Stax Die-namics. The lion on the stands frames the sentiment a bit.

I wanted a little longer piece to stamp the sentiment on, that why I didn't use the Ticket Strip for that... but this Rectangle Stax Die-namics worked perfectly. I'm really enjoying the little diamonds image in the set. I've used it with the sentiments in both the front and inside of the card.

That's a great way to carry over the design.

Circus Spectacular and à la modes Polished to Perfection

Hello friends! It's day 5 (of 7) of Teaser Time for My Favorite Things. Today I'm sharing more using my soon to be released stamp set and Die-namics, Circus Spectacular and also the new à la modes, Polished to Perfection!

 I'm starting off with Polished to Perfection first! 

This image is adorable and the rest of the team did an amazing job coloring in the images. I'm really enjoying the color pop, selective coloring technique. After coloring just the nail polish I added some stickles over it for that extra shine. Zva Crystals were added for more shine and some balance.

The inside has some simple stamping with the girl and also the Complementary Greeting set.

The contrast comes by stamping the sentiment on white cardstock and then hand trimming. Offsetting the girl is a great way to frame the sentiment.

Now for a quick Circus Spectacular project... 

I stamped the scene first then die cut it. That's the great part about the Die-namics Stax sets.

I REALLY love the patterned paper I used on both projects today. I scored this one to go around the bag that holds the treats. I used score-tape to adhere everything at the top. Then I punched two holes to thread the twine.

I just love how the elephant looks like he's balancing the ball during a show. 

So, my hubby's birthday was this weekend and I made this for him. It's got yummy Mini Oreos in it... yum!

Circus Spectacular and Bookmark Duo

It's day 4 of Teaser time for My Favorite Things. Today I get to share another new set in addition to my new stamp set and Die-namics, Circus Spectacular and Ticket Strip. Bookmark Duo Die-namics and stamp set! 

First off some fun bookmarks using the fun new Bookmark Duo Die-namics and stamp set!

I've combined Circus Spectacular and Ticket Strip Die-namics with the set to create these vintage style bookmarks! I love the font in the sentiment; I think it goes so well with the circus animals!

I like the shape of the bookmark dies too. Elegant and versatile! I make a lot of bookmarks for the kids and friends and plan of using this Die-namics a TON!

Next is a vintage feeling card.

I went with warmer colors for this one to coordinate with the fun 7G patterned paper.

I trimmed out the tent and added a layer for the backing so that the element could have some natural shadow. 

The sentiment has a little decorative stamping below it. 

On day one I discussed fun fit finds....When a stamp expectedly works with a die (that isn't made to go with it) and ends up yielding really fun results!  Debbie Carriere discovered a BRILLIANT fun fit when she created a beautiful elephant card with CIRCUS a few days ago. She discovered that the new Double Dot Border Die-namics and the two circle images in the set work perfectly together!!! I hope you will click over and check it out! Cool find, Debbie!

Circus Spectacular Day 3

 Hello friends! It's day 3 of Teaser Time for My Favorite Things... and I get to share more using my soon to be released stamp set and Die-namics, Circus Spectacular today!

Now... on to today's card!

This card was created with a special new little man in mind. He made his appearance to the world about a week ago. (He looks adorable in his photos too!)

I knew that a baby card would be easy with this Circus Spectacular (Because of the animals) but I wanted to create one that was more gentle and maybe even natural feeling. This card is subtle enough that you could switch out the sentiment for most any occasion.

Each of the Circus Spectacular animal images was stamped then die cut with the Circle Stax Die-namics. 

The text patterned paper if from Canvas Corp. They have such lovely paper.

I used the giraffe and ball image for the inside. I wanted it to look a little playful but not circus-ish.

Circus Spectacular day 2

Welcome and welcome back, friends! It's so nice to have you visiting today. It's day 2 of Teaser time for MFT... and for my new stamp set and Die-namics, Circus Spectacular and Ticket Strip!

Before moving on...I was so touched by your lovely comments and messages on yesterday's post. Thank you so much in sharing in the excitement with me and taking the time to express it!

I have a bright and fun party themed card to share today.  

The Party Time sentiment in Circus Spectacular can be used for an invitation or just to celebrate anyone's birthday! Did you know that Circus themed weddings are a big thing right now? Especially vintage inspired ones! I discovered that in my research for this set in addition to some other fun tidbits. I've created a pinboard to try to provide you with some inspiration- Circus Pin Board.

Someone had asked in yesterday's comments what the words say on all the animals. The tent and animals all have the same words. Welcome to the Circus. The Greatest show on Earth. Have some peanuts and popcorn and enjoy the show.  Pretty simple and straight forward... and appropriate for the set. :) You might be able to read some if you click on this photo and make it larger.

Introducing: Circus Spectacular and Ticket Strip

 Hello friends! I'm so excited to share with you today. It's time for the preview of my first stamp set with My Favorite Things!

I continually feel honored to have had my artwork picked up by MFT...and to be honest, it just never gets old seeing my work go from thoughts to actual stamps. Even though I've illustrated for 5 years... I am seriously giddy about seeing and stamping with my sets. And watching others stamp with them! I hope that you will hop over to the MFT blog after reading my post to see what the team has created with my new Stamp Set and Die-namics.

Without further ado... Circus Spectacular!

Circus Spectacular Die-namics and Stamp Set: This Stamp and Die-namics combination, is priced at $39.95. It contains 8 dies and 24 stamps! The image in this set maintain clean lines while incorporating some distressing and text that give this set a vintage yet graphic feeling. There are some fun elements that make this set super versatile too!

And... isn't it fun that MFT creates these nifty graphics to show you the sets and products! As I Share projects you can see what images came from where... isn't that fun!

Ticket Strip Die-namics: This die is priced at $9.95 and has a really cool feature. The nub end has nifty prongs that allow you to double back on a die cut strip so that you can have a strip of 6 tickets! I'll share more about that in a few days! (There is a COOL video on the MFT blog showing this if you don't want to wait until then!)

On to the cards...

I thought I would share my first and possibly favorite card that I created with Circus Spectacular to kick of the projects.

I used the cart image and masked it to stamp the monkey image inside. Copics were then used to color it all. When I was illustrating Circus Spectacular I peeked at beautiful vintage circus posters and these colors were predominant!

It's fun to have these circus ticket images to play with... even just having them peeking out add a little to the card. The diamond border was created with the little diamond image in the set... and the stars, without being planned, fit perfectly in the centers of the stars in the MFT star border! They look great with these Mini Wavy Pennants too!

I love it when I find fun fits like that! One intentional fit is the shape of the two sentiments in Circus Spectacular. This fit over the cart and inside the tent perfectly... and they look beautiful in the cart too. (you will see on the next card)

Keeping in line with my simple on the inside style...

I always make sure there is some room to write to the recipient when I design the inside of the card.  

Now for some contrast in style and colors... a soft and gentle Circus Spectacular card.

The Lion image is great for so many things. I think that my natural tendency is to lean toward a masculine card with this image so I challenged myself to create something sweet and feminine with it. Pink just screams girly, huh!

I'm having fun with my little circus cart too.  Each animal image has a sentiment to go with it and fits in the top section of the cart. 

Since the curve of the sentiment is designed to go over the top curve of the cart (and inside the tent) it also works inside the cart

Some of my favorite things in Circus Spectacular are the little accent images, like this Next Show image. These little images are ones that I usually create after the larger main images are illustrated so that the set is filled to the brim!

It doesn't take much to create the inside, but it sure finishes off the card!

Now... I have yet another style to share. Clean and graphic.

Here you can see in full one of the ticket images as well as the Giraffe. 

I used a circle die to cut the sentiment and then I adhered it to the ticket. Everything is clean and crisp... even the inside.


This is one of the things that I love about solid images. They can make stamping quick and easy and still add a ton of color!

Simple Pleasures VIP Collection

Hello friends! I hope you all are doing well. I'm enjoying Summer with my girls and we are finally getting some decent weather her in Western Washington! Summer is awesome!

So... about today's post...My Favorite Things has this great mid-month preview called the VIP New Product Tour and I'm sharing a little from this month's collection today.  The Simple Pleasures VIP collection includes two of the upcoming August release Pure Innocence sets, as well as new Die-namics dies AND a free sentiment set that will never be sold again! (They are cute sentiments too!)

The Picture Perfect stamp set has an adorable girl peeking through a frame. 

 

I thought I would try something different with the images today. Instead of coloring everything in the images I did some color pop highlights. I chose three colors to work with for this card and kept it simple. I also cut off her lower body. Yep... and it's pretty cute with little boots and everything... I just liked it a little cleaner for this card. Plus it gives the stamp a totally different look with just the face peeking through the frame.

I think I sometimes get caught up in the hair and skin when coloring people images. I loved how this card ended up having a finished feel with limited coloring and some detailed trimming. I did trim that frame out and pop it up to add dimension. Don't get me wrong, I like coloring, but I don't always feel like it... or spending the time coloring in every detail. And... well, there are times that I get an image all colored only to mess up at the last minute. *uhg* That's so frustrating. Can you tell how excited I am about this partial coloring that I've rediscovered for myself. I used to do it way back when I first started stamping. A good reminder for me to review my techniques too. :) Cute Canvas Corp. Pattern paper really complements the image too!

The inside is fun too...

I stamped the inside first then stamped the heart and adhered it. Super easy but an effective way of adding some color and dimension. 

This new Piggy Bank stamp set has such a cute little piggy.

When planning out this card I honestly thought of only coloring the piggy. It just didn't fly. LOL! OK... did you just think about that saying "when pigs fly"? Yes... I am a silly girl. Anyhow, I pulled out some Copics and this Canvas corp patterned paper and found that the teal blue color went well with the pinks I used. So that's the inspiration for the shirt. I really like the MFT cardstock. (It's 100lb)

I wasn't sure how I felt about the color of the penny... but alas... it needed to be copper toned to go with the sentiment that I planned on using. Silver would have been better, I think. 

Some more simple stamping for the inside. This gives me plenty of room to write and I still get to have some cuteness in there too. 

I wasn't able to work in the awesome Arrows that are included in this VIP collection. I do really love them and have other cards using my new upcoming stamp set. Arrows are awesome! No... the set is not an arrow set. *grin*

MFT July Creative Challenge!

Before chatting about today's projects I wanted to express to you how incredibly touched I am over your excitement about yesterday's announcement! Thank you to those who shared comments here on my blog, Facebook, SCS and privately. The sentiments that you have expressed have filled my heart with such joy! Thank you just doesn’t seem like enough! (((HUGS)))

OK... now onto the cards!

I was excited for an opportunity to start posting as a Design Team member for MFT... and this sounded like a fun way to kick things off! I don't usually start creating for Christmas early, but it was fun to get a little jump on it! I wanted to show how you can create some Christmas cards without any Christmas specific stamps. 

I used Finishing Flourishes as the base image for this card. Your Story stamp set and Die-namics are used for the frame.

I built the NOEL sentiment with the Typewriter Alphabet. I really like this alphabet too.

A few little Zva Crystals are added to embellish.

Here is the inside...

More flourishes and some of the text from the Your Story set. 

This next card show the amazing versatility of stars. I love stars in general. It's nice to have these MFT ones now, for a few reasons.

I like that I can see through them to see where I am cutting so that I can play with patterned paper more efficiently!

More Finishing Flourishes used on this card. They are cool and I think I will have to force myself to not use them on everything.

The little sentiment Strips Die-namics is a great little set for adding that special little touch!

And now for the very simply stamped inside...

I just used the other end of the trimmed sentiment strip for this little inside detail. Simple but it tied it all in together. (BTW... the patterned paper is Red & Ivory Stripe and Green & Ivory Dot Reverse from Caanvas Corp)

A HUGE Announcement!

I couldn't be more excited about this new home that I have found!

I will be illustrating stamps and creating die designs as well as being a part of the Design Team! My first Stamp Set and Die-namics will be available with MFT on August 7th at 10 PM EST and I will start DT work right away! (This image above is a preview of the packaging too!)

If MFT is new to you... here are my personal feelings and an introduction.

My Favorite Things is a wonderful company filled with quality exclusive stamps, cardstock, ribbon, buttons, felt... and other amazing products. More importantly, they are warm and caring, filled with integrity and honesty. I met Kim (the owner) several years ago at CHA and thought she was just super! Now after having a little bit of time working with her...I can attest to the fact that who she is, is reflected in her company. She is kind, generous, and wants the best for those around her. She builds up and supports those who work for her and as a result, her company is supported and built up! She is also one of the most considerate people I have ever met. MFT has wonderful customer service and a design team that is off the charts AMAZING! (They've raised the bar for me for sure!) Jody has been unbelievable during this whole transition. She is a lot like Kim and has been amazingly patient with me as I settle into my new home. I am SO thankful to everyone at MFT... they have welcomed me with open arms and an excitement I have never felt before.  I hope you will take the time to pop over to the MFT website and look around!

I will start sharing teaser projects in the beginning of August... I will make sure to post this little graphic so you know when I am sharing a Lisa Johnson Designs stamp set or Die-namics.

OK... so. the MFT Design Team has a sweet blog hop to welcome the addition of my new stamp line. (See? Wonderful, I tell you! And a little humbling too!) I wanted to share a card that shows my feelings about coming to live at MFT.

I love that MFT has great cardstock. I have a few new favorite colors for sure! Seriously, how adorable is this mouse?  She is so sweet and content. She is pretty fun to color with Copics too. I did a few little blender pen patterns on her clothes.

I tend to want the inside of my cards to be really simple. Stamping is perfect for doing that.

 I thought that the sentiment in the set was perfect for this occasion. I DO feel SO blessed to be where I am at right now.

Kim... thank you for letting me become a part of such a wonderful company! My heart is SO full with appreciation and friendship! I FEEL BLESSED!

Savoring this time

I've been taking a little stamping break because Alex is home. Yes, ALEX IS HOME!!! I love having her here and it will be hard when she hops on that plane on Monday. She has grown so much as a person. 

They all have been enjoying each other's company, for the most part. Hey, they are all girls... there is always some sort of drama.

In about three seconds... this is what usually happens. (They get the goofball gene from me!)

Moments like these, that you can only really have around your sisters are so precious. I love them! I love that they are all unique and special in their own way.

Yes, I'm savoring this time. It's rare and wonderful now that Alex is sort of on her own out at BYU.

So Grateful

I really am!  I'm grateful for so many things today. Grateful for friends, family, life in general. I'm trying to count my blessings today because I am feeling mournful about the sun not showing its face. I miss the sun. *sigh*  So, with that attitude of gratitude I created a sunny feeling card!

I was so excited for Gina K when she announced her new clear stamps! I used to be all about rubber and when I finally got into clear, I didn't really want to go back. Honestly, because of the visibility more than anything! I love Gina and am trilled for her! It's great for our industry too! I'm also excited that two of my friends will now be working with Gina K!

So, you might be wondering my opinion on the quality. I am really impressed! They are great quality and stamped nicely. 

This is a pretty quick card. I tend to stamp quick when it's just for fun... and that's what I was doing with this card.

I LOVE having Orange Baker's twine too! I'm sort of addicted to the red color but I got this from MFT to try and love it. It's a little thicker than my other twine but I think I like that too. 

So, I had a great few days away. I spent one entire day doing nothing. It was AWESOME! I need about 5 more days of that. (If the Sun is involved!)  There are some great things on the horizon though. Alex is coming home for about a week!!! I've missed her SO much and am going to hoard her away while she is here. (Imagine the seagulls from "Finding Nemo", yep... that's me!) There are other great things coming too... I will share more on those things as they draw nearer. :)

I Like White...

Space. I really do. I think it gives my eye a little rest and even some direction as to where my focus needs to be. I think that my favorite designers have mastered the ability to use White Space in their designs. They are the designers who seem to create the simplest WOW designs. The designs seem to often have their focal image/sentiment to the side... rarely center focused.

There are a few things that I've noticed with these designers that I am seeking to become better at. They seem to master the use of color. They make projects interesting with that and simple details.

Now... I'm not saying that this card is a fantastic use of white space... but it's a start. :)

I used some Paper Smoches stamps, SUPER cute images and Colorbox Fluid Chalk Ink. Now... 

I'm not sure if it's that the clear sets I have are just prone to this but man... this ink does stain my images. I really love the color and coverage but am not totally sure how I feel about the staining. I think that my favorite Clearsnap ink is still Vivid. (I just can’t seem to figure out where I put my stash of those.) As I've been purging older products from my studio I've rediscovered some of my old favorites that I just couldn't bear to part with...and I found my big box of ink pads. It's been fun getting re-acquainted with some "old friends"! LOL!

Well, I'm not sure I will have much to post this week. It's the last week of school and on top of it I've headed out of town with my hubby for the last few days too. Silly snow days made it a little complicated by extending school. But... I enjoy spending time with Chris. While he is in the conference part of the trip, working and all, I'll get a good shot of Vitamin D! We have had SUCH a cloudy and rainy spring. I am SO ready! I can usually only enjoy about 2 days away from my girls... so this is a perfect little break!  If you are ever in Washington and want an incredible place to just "be"... this is it! (Sun Mountain Lodge) Tonight we even get to take wagons and horses out to a cowboy dinner! But yes... I'm already missing my girls, and we just left yesterday! LOL!
